Tomáš Bella is the CEO of EUobserver.com. He is also the co-founder and Chief Digital Officer of Denník N, an independent Central European publisher that became EUobserver’s owner in 2026. Previously, he co-founded Piano, a company providing software for publishers, and also served as a reporter, editor, and editor-in-chief at Slovakia’s most popular news portal.

EUobserver, the independent online media covering European Union affairs, on Tuesday announced that it is joining journalist-owned Slovak publishing house Denník N, in a bid to strengthen its long-term sustainability, resilience, and capacity for growth — while fully preserving its editorial independence.
