Silvie Lauder is a journalist at Czech magazine Respekt. She initially focused on domestic politics, she gradually expanded her coverage to include topics that were often considered taboo or deeply polarising, such as the position of women (and men) in society, sexual violence, and issues affecting the LGBT+ community. Three of her articles were nominated for the Open Society Fund (OSF) Journalism Award, and in 2013 she won the prize for an investigative piece on the history of the Romani Holocaust. In 2018, she received the Františka Plamínková Award. In spring 2023, she published a collection of feminist essays entitled Trapped by Gender (V pasti pohlaví).
