Emre Kizilkaya is a senior editor and media researcher, based in Istanbul. He served as vice-chair of the Vienna-based International Press Institute from 2021 to 2024 and was a technology and human rights fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Carr-Ryan Center in 2024-2025. Kizilkaya received his PhD in media and communication with a dissertation titled “The Algorithmic Veil: Affective Trust, AI Blind Spots, and the Design of Human-Centered News Ranking.”
